Brook Wong, Associate Attorney, Mintz

Brook Wong, an Attorney in Mintz’s Toronto Office, focuses his practice on a variety of corporate commercial matters, with an emphasis on transactions related to emerging companies, venture capital and mergers and acquisitions. His clients consist of life sciences and technology companies, in addition to the angel investors, venture firms, and private equity funds that finance and partner with them. Brook has been ranked by Best Lawyers in Canada as ‘One to Watch: Venture Capital Law’ and by LMG Life Sciences as a ‘Canadian Rising Star’. He received his JD from the University of Western Ontario and his BCOMM with Honours from Queen’s University. Prior to joining Mintz, Brook was a corporate associate at a major Canadian law firm.

Andrew Martinko, Investor Relations Officer

Andrew first joined Velocity a decade ago as an entrepreneur in the newly created Velocity Science program. He co-founded SPOTMYUV (Suncayr), and led the company as CEO until its acquisition. SPOTMYUV UV Detection Stickers are colour-changing stickers that tell you when to reapply sunscreen. SPOTMYUV created a new product category of sunscreen intervention devices, and helps raise awareness about proper sun protection behaviour. Andrew completed both his degrees at the University of Waterloo: a BASc in Nanotechnology Engineering and a Masters in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MBET). He also is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
