Velocity is hiring its next Incubator Director to drive success for ventures in the Velocity portfolio.
Velocity is one of North America’s top business incubators, backed by the University of Waterloo, one of Canada’s most innovative universities. Having supported more than 400 companies that have collectively raised >$2.4B in private capital and created >5,000 jobs, Velocity’s focus is always on founders.
The mission of the Director is this: create the conditions, support structures and networks for committed, early-stage founders to build companies that scale.
Accordingly Velocity’s Director is accountable for advising and supporting founders (including Velocity incubator operations), readying companies to apply and leading the Velocity Fund, nurturing and developing an engaged alumni and support networks, and ultimately problem solving around maximizing founder success during the early stages of building a company.
Candidates for this position are leaders that relate to the work of an early stage entrepreneur, understand innovation ecosystems, and strategies and mechanics of raising private capital. This is a chance to make a huge impact for founders and within the innovation ecosystem!
Reporting to the director is an energized Velocity incubator staff, including an industrious advisory group, all committed to driving success for startups.
