Velocity is seeking its next Campus Director to lead Velocity’s entrepreneurial support system for the University of Waterloo (UWaterloo) campus. As Velocity’s Campus Director, you will oversee many initiatives and activities related to inspiring, informing, and shaping future entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially-minded people. Your opportunity is to work with an ambitious and talented pool of undergraduate and graduate students, and increasingly faculty as well, to translate their ideas and research into teams and projects that can spin-out as successful companies. Our signature campus program, Concept (by Velocity), launched in 2019 and is rapidly growing with broad engagement from across the University. Concept’s success is foundational to Velocity’s mission and strategy and the Campus Director is accountable for its performance.

As a non-academic unit, Velocity places tremendous value on its relationships with University of Waterloo faculty, institutes, and many other internal groups to connect with students and the UWaterloo community as a whole. Collaborative programs and initiatives with internal partners are essential activities for the Campus Director (who must create win-win outcomes).

Velocity is the University of Waterloo’s leading entrepreneurship program. It's composed of two units. The Velocity Incubator supports early-stage tech companies through to the seed stage and provides customized business advisement and product development facilities. Concept, by Velocity infuses the Waterloo community with inspiration and information about entrepreneurship and collaboratively operates pre-incubation programs to ready soon-to-be entrepreneurs for building a company.
